I have just registered with Angard Staffing. How do I get my first shift?
An Angard ID badge and welcome letter will be posted to your home address once you have passed your security checks. An Angard consultant for the mail centre/location you have applied for contact you within 2-3 working days of you receiving your badge to arrange your first induction shift.
How are shifts allocated to Angard workers?
Angard aims to distribute shifts evenly amongst a mail centre’s pool of workers. During busy periods (Christmas, Easter), demand from Royal Mail for casual workers is very high and shifts are more readily available. During less busy periods, shifts are not as frequent and where possible Angard aim to offer shifts evenly across the pool. There may be short periods where no shifts are offered as there is no resource requirement from Royal Mail.
How do I book myself in for a shift?
When you receive an SMS message, there will be instructions within the message of how to book yourself in. This is usually a telephone number which you will need to ring to book yourself in for the shift. When you call, you will automatically be placed in the call queue for your mail centre. Due to the volume of workers calling in to book themselves in, please allow 2-3 minutes during busy periods to be put through to the consultant.
I have booked myself in for a shift but I am now unable to attend. What should I do?
If you wish to cancel a booking you have already committed to please call the Angard mainline on 0333 240 8502 and select option 2 followed by option 2 again. Please ensure you give as much notice as possible (minimum of 2 hours) if you wish to cancel a shift to ensure Angard can arrange for a replacement.
